The Department of Public Services and Environment strengthened waste management with the removal of containers and compaction processes that ensure responsible and safe handling.
From the Secretariat of Public Services and Environment, we continue strengthening the responsible management of special waste on our island.
This month, we evacuated 4 containers; around 76 were compacted, this is the result of ongoing work carried out in different sectors to keep our spaces clean and safe. All the material collected in the neighborhoods first arrives at Green Point, where it goes through a compaction and sorting process, ensuring proper handling and preventing these items from ending up in green areas, critical points, or harming our environment.
Finally, this special waste is shipped to Cartagena, where it receives its final disposal in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
